Folks around the world still think that eating breakfast, or 3 meals each day will lead them to put on weight. The report advocates specialist help including psychological therapy for mental health patients so that they can join office as soon as possible.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Just three out of ten employees got their contract before reporting to work and 9% did not receive a contract until being in their role for six months.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Close to 2 million workers in the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">UK</st1:place></st1:country-region> did not have a job contract. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal">CEO of the consumer group Peter Vicary-Smith said that the research conducted by Which? showed that many employees made the mistake of not going through their <a href="http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/layer?topicId=1073971494">employment contracts</a> completely which could result in shocks in the future as they would not be aware of all the job terms and conditions.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">He advised people to ensure that they read the contract well before signing it and confirm whether salary, notice period, holidays list and severance procedure agreed with what was communicated by the employer in the interview. Crossing the&#8217;t&#8217;s and dotting the &#8216;i&#8217;s would be helpful in the future.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">It is imperative for employers to provide employees with a written contract that states job terms and conditions. Employment Contract and Management Guide v.5.0 by Workplace Law helped employers make sure that they adhere to rules and issue an accurate documentation of the agreement between employee and employer. The policy also has a Management Guide running into 23 pages that contains notes on requirements and policies for employers. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The female workers claiming their rights against the biased approach of their employers included cooks, caretakers as well as cleaners. The tribunal upheld the claims and declared that the bonuses paid to men were gender biased. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Statistics suggest that a substantial number of male employees working as street cleaners, road workers and refuse collectors received as much as 159% of the basic salary. The problem is that where male refuse collectors have been reported to earn &#163;51,000, the female workers at the same post have never received more than &#163;12,000. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Council administration believed that the male refuse collecting staffs needs slightly different treatment than the females. The <a href="http://www.employmenttribunals.gov.uk/AboutUs/aboutUs.htm">Employment Tribunal</a> did not find a justification for the differential payment for men and women workers in this line, especially since men appear to be earning more for doing the same work. The Tribunal has decided to proceed with deciding upon the awards of &#163;30m as supported by the Unison and GMB. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The decision is related to the bonus structure that was introduced long back and was revised several times since then. According to Councillor Alan Rudge, the revised bonus scheme of 2007 that introduced a new grading structure in payment scene satisfied the <a href="http://www.equalityhumanrights.com/advice-and-guidance/information-for-employers/equal-pay-resources-and-audit-toolkit/">Equal Opportunity Commission</a> equality guidelines. However, the scheme failed to address the grievances of many staff including the issues of under payment of women, which had resulted in a widespread strike in 2008. </p>
