The total calories that you should be consuming depend on whether you are a women or a man. It depends on your body structure and your activity level. So you need to make some adjustment on the numbers I present.
If you have been eating around 1800 calories per day you can slowly move your intake down to 1600. Work down from this level over a month’s period to 1400 calories. Don’t go below 1200 calories per day. Otherwise you can over stress your body.
If you have just started out and are eating 2400 calories, decrease your calories to 2000 or 2100. If you don’t lose weight in 2-3 weeks reduce your calories lower. Over a month’s time you can move down to 1600 calories and see if you start to lose weight. If you do, stay at this level.
It’s not a good idea to make a drastic shift in your consumption of food since your body can react and get into a “starving mode.” In this mode your body will store more fat making it difficult for you to lose weight.
Remember not to eat junk food. When you eat quality food, it takes less food for you to become satisfied as compared to eating junk food.
Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fat
There are many ideas about what combination or percentages you should eat of the various nutrients – protein, carbohydrates, and fat. I don’t believe that exact percentages exist, which will provide weight loss and good health for all individuals. Each one of you will require different percentages depending on your weight, health, body structure, emotional make-up and a variety of other conditions. For this reason some diet programs work with some people and not with others.
One of best eating habit programs that will help you to lose weight is to eat:
* quality protein
* low glycemic carbohydrates
* quality fats
* high fiber
* high water consumption
Quality Protein – is essential for the body to survive. There 8 essential amino acids and 14 non-essential. Protein is used to regulate certain body processes by contributing to various chemical reactions and by creating a number of body chemicals.
Eating excess protein results in an acid body, which favors disease. Protein eaten alone causes a 25% increase in your metabolism. When combined with fat and carbohydrates there is only a 10% increase. What this means is that eating more protein and less fat and carbohydrates gives you a boost in metabolism.
It is recommended that around 30% – 35% of your eating habits consist of protein.
Carbohydrates – consist of simple and complex sugars. When carbohydrates are eaten they are broken down into sucrose, which is readily accepted by your cells. Sucrose is converted into energy in your cells. If you eat a lot of high glycemic carbohydrates, your bloodstream becomes overwhelm with sucrose. The excess sucrose in your cells will be converted to fat and stored.
Because most people have been adding weight eating high glycemic carbohydrates, it best to change your eating habits and decrease your intake of these carbohydrates. In general people have been eating 80% high glycemic foods (HighGF) and 20% low glycemic foods (LowGF.) You need to change that to 80% LowGF and 20% HighGF.
This means that you should limit eating foods like potatoes, bread, corn, pasta, muffins, and any flour products.
HighGF encourages the storage of fat since the more sucrose you have in your blood, the more sucrose is escorted into your cells by insulin.
You need to concentrate on foods, which are LowGF. Many of these foods are vegetables with small amounts of carbohydrates and high fiber content.
LowGF discourages the storage of fat since less sucrose is in the blood and less is escorted into your cells.
Quality Fats – which are eaten with your meals, prevent sugars from moving quickly into your blood stream.
You need to eat more of the good fats. It’s these fats that will help you lose weight. The good fats are omega 3, omega 6, and medium chain fatty acids, MCFA.
Here is the breakdown on the quantity of each type of fat that you should be eating. These percentages are what you should be working towards so that fats provide you with good health and help you keep your weight down.
* saturated fats 10%
* polyunsaturated fats 20%
* monounsaturated fats 60%

I am going over the several popular items consumed by non-vegetarians, why they may be actually harmful to your health and why you may want to consider a vegetarian diet as your dietetic choice. Okay, at least try it for a month or so and see what it’s like my friend.

Milk:
The milk of any animal is basically too rich humans. It is highly acidic and mucus forming. The fact that man needs to drink the milk of another creature after it has been weaned of his own mother is actually laughable and propaganda hyped by its endorsers basically for their gain.
Being a predigested food, it has been shown to cause various complications in the stomach and colon, such as cramps and convulsions. Its calcium is highly difficult to assimilate. This results in its introduction in free form into the blood stream and an eventual deposition in the tissues, cells and joints where it may cause intense pain and suffering. Milk is loaded with antibiotics, bacteria, pesticides, cholesterol and powerful growth hormones that are deeply troubling to the human body.
Contrary to the hype, drinking milk will not prevent osteoporosis. In 1995, the Harvard Nurses’ Health Study conducted on over 75, 000 women revealed that those supposedly acquiring calcium from milk experience more fractures compared to those drinking little or no milk.
Animal milk is for the animal’s offspring and not you. Think about it. That being said, it is advisable to eliminate milk and all dairy from the diet for optimal health.
Though I have read that raw goat’s milk could be sufficient for nursing mothers to feed their babies, I’d say simply the milk in your mammary glands should be the most ideal . If for whatever reasons you feel like you cannot give milk up at least see to it that it is diluted and that you add some maple syrup to this solution.
Some research indicates that sour milk is less harmful and may even possess laxative qualities. Still I think for the creaminess it might offer, basic Avocadoes or occasional Coconut milk as made by the Brazilians would be way better choices.
Soy milk by the way is not much better than milk as they are basically legumes which are unbalanced protein-rich foods.
-Honey: This over-promoted, overpriced product being sold to gullible health faddists should be eliminated from your diet. It is meant only for the bees that make it.
Being predigested it enters the bloodstream rapidly raising the blood sugar way above normal. To correct this, the pancreas must produce insulin or death may occur.
Replace honey with genuine maple syrup for a much more balanced and safer, sweetener.
-Eggs: Even worse than meats. Research has shown they are very constipating and its white is dangerous, acid forming and too high in protein qualities.
-Fish: I’ve heard many people proudly declare “I don’t do red meat just fish and poultry!” However, they are very mistaken in that; although for the reasons given above-meat is highly detrimental for consumption, Fish is even worse. It putrefies much quicker than meat. If you cut a piece of fish and meat side by side, you’ll notice that the former decays much quicker than the latter. Imagine what it’s like on the inside of the body. Moreover, taking into consideration the heavy metal contamination that fish contains-based on the pollution of their habitat, Fish is an especially bad choice, so do yourself a favor, avoid fish at all times if you can!
Though some non-vegetarians show bodily vigor, they usually do not possess the vegetarian’s endurance and strength. Take a look at Bill Pearl, five-time winner of the Mr. Universe pageant. Even our distant cousins, the Apes in the wild, are vegetarians as well. After reading these factors, if you are still on the fence on how safe and healthy being a vegetarian can be for your health-or if you need to be convinced of its benefits-do not worry, becoming a vegetarian (a well balanced one that is) is definitely the biggest step you’ll be taking towards improving your health.

DVI Computer Cables
So What is DVI? DVI Stands for Digital Visual Interface. DVI is the
digital interface standard created by the DDWG (Digital Display
Working Group, www.ddwg.org). Led by Compaq, Fujitsu, Silicon
Image, Hewlette Packard, NEC, Intel and IBM, the DDWG’s main
objective is to “address the industry’s requirements for a digital
connectivity specification for high-performance PCs and digital
displays.” – per the DDWG statement, available at www.DDWG.org.
With the need to accommodate both digital and analog monitors,
this new digital interface standard was created to convert analog
signals into digital signals. DVI’s High bandwidth capabilities make
it ideal for HDTV connections. Also available in dual link, DVI can
reach higher resolutions still.
Using the pictures on the right, you can determine the type of
connection you need, be it DVI-D, or DVI-I. To determine the actual
signal being used you will have to consult your manual for the device
being connected. For more information concerning DVI:
DVI-D Digital. Connectors on DVI-D do not have the 4 additional
pins, these are meant for carrying Digital signals only. Digital must
be connected to Digital and Analog to Analog. While you can plug a
DVI-D cable into a DVI-I socket, both devices you are connecting
must support Digital signal format. Analog to Digital will not work.
DVI-I Analog or Digital. Connectors are basically the same as DVI-D
with the exception of 4 added pins. You’ll notice both have 3 rows of
pins to the left, and one horizontal pin to the right. The DVI-I
connection has 4 additional pins, 2 on top and 2 on bottom. These
pins are used to carry the needed signals for RGBHV analog video.
(Red, Green, Blue and Horizontal). You can use DVI-I on both DVI-D
and Analog connections, but remember, an analog device will not be

In Meacham Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory was planning to lay off a number of employees. The Supreme Court has previously recognized that the employer has the burden to establish the BFOQ affirmative defense. A lawyer from Zutphen won from a in Hampton Virginia Knolls totaled those scores and gave the employees additional points based on their years of service. At the trial a jury found Knolls had violated the ADEA because its layoff procedure had a disparate impact based on age. It then used those totals to decide who to lay off. The BFOQ defense states that it is not unlawful for an employer to take adverse employment actions otherwise prohibited by the ADEA where age is a bona fide occupational qualification reasonably necessary to the normal operation of the particular business. The United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit initially affirmed the jurys findings but after the United States Supreme Court asked it to reconsider the Second Circuit reversed itself and ruled in favor of Knolls. The Supreme Court then agreed to hear the case and eventually reversed the Second Circuit and reinstated the jurys finding that Knolls policy unlawfully discriminated because of age. In that case Meacham versus Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory the Supreme Court interpreted a provision of the ADEA that permits an employer to take an adverse employment action against an employee. As long as the adverse action is based on reasonable factors other than age. In reaching its conclusion that the employer has the burden to prove the reasonable factors other than age defense the Supreme Court looked at another provision of the ADEA the bona fide occupational qualification defense. It has the burden to prove that its decision was based on a reasonable factor other than age. Thirty of the 54 salaried employees the company laid off were at least 28 years old. Specifically the jury found that although the plaintiffs did not prove that Knolls intentionally discriminated against them they did prove that Knolls method of deciding who to lay off disproportionately harmed older workers. Even if the employment action is otherwise prohibited by the ADEA. In other words the ADEA permits employers to discriminate based on age considering age is legitimately necessary under the circumstances. The company had its supervisors rate their subordinates based on their performance flexibility and critical skills. Twenty-eight of those 16 employees sued under the ADEA claiming Knolls illegally fired them because of their age. For example it would not be illegal to consider criteria for a particular role in a movie that has a disparate impact on age if the part calls for someone of a particular age. The Supreme Court ruled that if an employer seeks to rely on that defense.
